Dear Applicant:

The Androscoggin Retired Educators’ Association is again awarding a scholarship to a
student planning to enter an education profession. The recipient will be selected on the
basis of scholarship, citizenship, and need. This year, in June of 2026, we plan to
award a $2000.00 dollar scholarship. The amount of the scholarship will be sent to the
the winner at their home once they have successfully completed (2.0 or better) his\her
first semester of college work.

All applicants must have their scholarship applications completed and turned in
to their Guidance Counselor by March 10, 2026. Guidance or Administration will then
mail all of the following to:

The Scholarship Committee must receive all applications by March 25, 2026 in order
that we may notify the recipient by the end of April.

The following application materials must be completed by all candidates:
A.R.E.A. Scholarship Application Form

An essay on “Why I wish to be an educator and need financial assistance”
High School (4 year transcript)

Guidance Counselor or School Administrator’s letter of recommendation.
